Toltec Builders Selected as Consultants to the Scottish Rite Temple in Washington, D.C.
|
Toltec Builders Inc. is pleased to announce that we have been selected as consultants to the owners of the Temple of the
Scottish Rite building at 1733 16th Street in Washington DC. Designed by renowned architect John Russell Pope, best known
for the Jefferson Memorial and the West Building of the National Gallery of Art, this building was modeled after the Tomb
of Maussollos at Halicarnassus (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World). Construction began in 1911 and the building
was dedicated in 1915.
Considered to be one of the most significant architectural structures in the United States, Toltec
Builders, Inc. will help supervise the planning stages of a substantial restoration and improvement project to this important
and nationally historic edifice.
